PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI PENGELOLA DESA WISATA MELALUI PELATIHAN BAHASA INGGRIS DI DESA WISATA PROVINSI D.I. YOGYAKARTA

Abstrak

Tourist Villages has become an alternative tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists visiting Yogyakarta Special Province. To improve excellent service to foreign tourists, it is necessary to increase human resources (HR) for managers and guides at tourist villages, especially in conveying information and serving guests using English. This community service activity aims to improve the skills of English for tourism village scouting. The targets of this activity were daily managers, tour guides and homestay managers. The methods used were need analysis, design, implementation and evaluation. The results of the training showed an increase in English comprehension skills seen from the pre test and post-test results. From the evaluation results, the managers showed a positive response to the English language training for tourist village scouting and stated that the English taught was relevant to needs in the field.
