biodiversity, river pollution, endemic animals, educational tourism, paddy barb fish
Abstract
The aim of this community service is to socialize and provide training to tourism awareness groups in Kradenan Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta about the importance of biodiversity conservation for ecotourism. The counseling and discussion focused on animals, namely the wader fish (Rasbora lateristriata) which is an endemic fish in rivers in Yogyakarta. The activity consisted of presenting conservation and ecotourism concepts as well as releasing barb fish seeds in the Bedog River. By presenting conservation concepts and the importance of preserving endemic animals, it is hoped that the preservation of barb fish will be maintained along with the conservation of their habitat, namely the rivers in Yogyakarta. It is expected that residents can continue the initial steps in socializing and preserving endemic animals in their area.
